An attempted robbery occurred on a barge whilst being towed by a tug boat in the Eastbound lane of the Traffic Separation Scheme. 2 small craft were spotted alongside the barge by an Indonesian Naval patrol
vessel. Three robbers were onboard the barge, passing stolen items to two further perpetrators in the small craft. The patrol vessel intervened which resulted in the five perpetrators being arrested, the two small craft being seized and 150kg of steel wire being recovered.
