SHIELD INTERNATIONAL SECURITY

(1) Incident Type : SUSPICIOUS APPROACH |  Vessel Type: TANKER      
1015 UTC | 22 December | Posn: 02-26.50N 005-24.90E | Nigeria

A tanker was approached whilst underway approximately 121nm southwest of Brass, Nigeria. When the tanker was approached by a speed boat on the port side, the tanker increased speed and altered course. The speed boat changed course and increased speed to continue its pursuit of the tanker. The alarm was then sounded and the crew mustered in the Citadel, apart from the Captain and 2 other crew members who remained on the Bridge. The Captain of the tanker continued to increase speed, altered course and alerted his company. The speed boat aborted the chase after 45 minutes. All crew were reported as safe.

(2) Incident Type : PIRATE ATTACK |  Vessel Type: CONTAINER SHIP      
0355 UTC | 21 December | Posn: 02-37.00N 005-37.00E | Gulf of Guinea

A Container Ship was boarded whilst underway approximately 100nm south-southwest of Brass, Gulf of Guinea. All crew were able to muster in the citadel and are reported as safe. It has been reported that whilst in the citadel, the Master heard the pirates firing their weapons onboard.

(3) Incident Type : PIRATE ATTACK |  Vessel Type: CONTAINER SHIP      
1406 UTC | 19 December | Posn: 02-39.00N 006-14.00E | Gulf of Guinea

A container ship was boarded by a number of pirates 85nm South of Brass Terminal, Gulf of Guinea. The crew managed to muster in the citadel. The crew have been reported as safe.
