(1) Incident Type : GENERAL ALERT | Vessel Type: FISHING VESSEL
0630 UTC | 09 November | Posn: 04-26.03N 002-42.00E | Gulf of Guinea
A fishing vessel has been approached by 1 skiff approximately 116nm south-southeast of Cotonou. The skiff had up to 8 armed persons on board and came to within a Closest Point of Approach of 0.7nm.
This is when the crew retreated to the Citadel and the Beninese Navy Guards fired warning shots. After 10 minutes the skiff departed.
(2) Incident Type : ATTEMPTED ROBBERY | Vessel Type: BULK CARRIER
1908 UTC | 08 November | Posn: 01-16.73N 104-18.02E | Singapore Strait
A robber was able to board a bulk carrier whilst underway in the Eastbound lane of the Traffic
Separation Scheme. The Master reported to the Vessel Traffic Information Service that one robber, armed with a knife
was spotted in the engine room. A full search was conducted which confirmed the robber had escaped and nothing had been reported stolen.
(3) Incident Type : ROBBERY | Vessel Type: BULK CARRIER
1820 UTC | 08 November | Posn: 01-17.71N 104-20.02E | Singapore Strait
Robbers were able to board a bulk carrier whilst underway in the Eastbound lane of the Traffic
Separation Scheme. It was reported to the Vessel Traffic Information Service that a number of robbers had been spotted
in the engine room. A full search was conducted which confirmed the robbers had escaped and one life buoy was missing.
(4) Incident Type : ROBBERY | Vessel Type: TANKER
1329 UTC | 08 November | Posn: 01-16.47N 104-12.53E | Singapore Strait
A robbery occurred on a tanker whilst underway in the Eastbound lane of the Traffic Separation
Scheme. The Master reported to the Vessel Traffic Information Service that three robbers has been sighted in the engine
room. A full search was conducted which confirmed that the robbers had escaped with items of ship's property.
(5) Incident Type :SUSPICIOUS APPROACH | Vessel Type: TANKER
1620 UTC | 07 November | Posn: 03-35.90N 004-36.31E | Gulf of Guinea
A tanker was approached whilst underway, 180nm South-southeast of Lagos. A speed boat
with 7 pirates armed with guns, approached the tanker and came to within 250 metres. The Master undertook all
security measures and the crew retreated to the citadel. The armed guards onboard displayed their weapons and fired
3 shots at the speed boat which resulted in the pirates aborting their pursuit and heading away. The vessel and crew
are reported safe and the tanker is continuing to her next port of call.
(6) Incident Type : PIRATE ATTACK | Vessel Type: TANKER
0640 UTC | 07 November | Posn: 03-28.00N 002-35.00E | Gulf of Guinea
A Tanker has been boarded by pirates whilst underway approximately 172nm south of Cotonou. All crew have retreated to the Citadel. Following Naval assistance, it has been confirmed that the crew are now out of the Citadel, all accounted for and are classed as safe.
