Robbers were able to board a tanker whilst berthed at Lagos Port. 2 boats approached the tanker and 2 robbers, armed with guns boarded from the bow. Duty crew spotted the perpetrators and the alarm was
raised which resulted in the robbers escaping.

A robbery occurred on an anchored container vessel at Pointe Noire anchorage. Access had been gained to the paint store and 280 litres of paint was stolen. The port authorities were informed.

A robbery occurred on a bulk carrier whilst anchored at Kakinada Anchorage, India. Duty crew spotted 1 robber onboard the bulk carrier. The alarm was raised which resulted in the robber escaping. A search of the vessel was completed which confirmed that some mooring ropes had been stolen.

Armed pirates on board a speed boat attacked a passenger boat transiting between Oron and Calabar, Cross River State. During the incident the attackers injured several passengers and critically injured 2 with gunshot wounds, before robbing them of their belongings. Further sources have stated that one of the injuries may have been fatal.
