(1) Incident Type : SUSPICIOUS APPROACH |  Vessel Type: TANKER      
0115 UTC | 05 September | Posn: 04-46.04N 007-00.05E | Nigeria

A small boat approached the port quarter of a berthed tanker at Shorelink Jetty, Port Harcourt. The on board Navy guard observed the boat and requested the aldis lamp to be directed at it. The boat moved toward
the port side of the tanker where it was noticed that it had a cover so could not identify how many persons were on board. The boat did not move away when lit by the aldis lamp resulting in the Navy guard firing 2 warning shots. The small boat moved away upon a third warning shot being fired. A stowaway search was carried on the tanker but none were found.

(2) Incident Type : GENERAL ALERT |  Vessel Type: NOT APPLICABLE      
0130 UTC | 04 September | Posn: 25-26.00N 058-20.00E | Gulf of Oman

The UKMTO have been informed that a live military exercise will be carried out by Iranian forces between 0130 UTC 4th September to 1830 UTC 10th September. This will possibly include live gun, missile or rocket firing and GPS Jamming and be bounded by the following coordinates:

A. 25-04.44N 061-32.45E
B. 24-41.40N 061-20.19E
C. 25-01.20N 057-30.52E
D. 25-36.00N 056-46.00E
E. 26-15.35N 056-44.09E
F. 26-41.51N 056-27.48E
G. 26-57.12N 056-28.00E
H. 26-44.43N 057-03.02E and back along the coast to point A

Vessels are advised to stay vigilant and report to the UKMTO should any interference be encountered on Radios, Radars or GPS equipment in this area.

(3) Incident Type : GENERAL ALERT |  Vessel Type: CARGO VESSEL      
1747 UTC | 03 September | Posn: 03-35.00N 007-50.00E | Gulf of Guinea

An armed group from the Rivers State, Nigeria are planning a piracy attack against vessels in area D of the Gulf of Guinea, especially the waters of Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea since September 1st. It is believed the attack will occur at low tide. Mariners are requested to be on high alert, to increase vigilance and surveillance and intensify intelligence both on the water and in the port. Report any suspicions and consider any diversions.

(4) Incident Type : GENERAL ALERT |  Vessel Type: CONTAINER VESSEL      
0230 UTC | 29 August | Posn: 06-01.00N 001-31.00E | Togo

A Liberian flagged container vessel was approached whilst anchored at Lome Anchorage. A small boat with up to 9 persons onboard approached to within a close proximity of the container vessel. The alarm was raised and necessary actions were taken which resulted in the small boat aborting its approach.
