(1) Incident Type : SUSPICIOUS APPROACH | Vessel Type : TANKER
1630UTC | 25 March | Posn: 02-27.00N 004-01.00E | Nigeria

A tanker was approached suspiciously approximately 180nm off Brass, Nigeria. The tanker was followed by a black speed boat for 30 minutes. The vessel got as close as 6nm miles away on radar and was also visually spotted by the crew. All crew have been reported as safe.

(2) Incident Type : SUSPICIOUS APPROACH | Vessel Type : BULK CARRIER
1005 UTC | 25 March | Posn: 03-08.00N 005-35.00E | Nigeria

A bulk carrier was approached approximately 120nm Southwest of Bonny, by a speed boat with 7 armed persons on board. A distress call was issued, which resulted in a security vessel from a nearby oil
terminal being dispatched to assist. The bulk carrier carried out evasive manoeuvres, resulting in the speed boat aborting the approach and moving away. The vessel is now safe.

(3) Incident Type : HIJACK | Vessel Type : PASSENGER BOAT
0500 UTC | 21 March | Posn: 00-13.07S 008-41.07E | Gabon

A passenger boat was hijacked approximately 22nm off Port Gentil, inside Gabonese Territorial Waters.
A number of pirates managed to board and hijack the vessel whist transiting from Bata to Annobon. The vessel then changed course and headed towards Nigeria. It was later reported to have been released on the 23rd March 2020 approximately 33nm southwest of Bonny Island. Three of the vessel's crew were kidnapped by the pirates. The vessel arrived safely at Malabo port on the 24th March 2020.
