(1) Incident Type : SUSPICIOUS APPROACH | Vessel Type : CARGO VESSEL
0748 UTC | 22 February | Posn: 12-10.00N 043-31.00E | Gulf of Aden

A vessel has been approached approximately 40nm North-Northeast of Djibouti Port. A total of 11 skiffs with up to 5 persons onboard, with ladders approached the vessel. The onboard Armed Security Team
have fired warning shots. The vessel is reported to be safe

(2) Incident Type : PIRATE ATTACK | Vessel Type : CONTAINER VESSEL
0320 UTC | 21 February | Posn: 02-56.00N 003-30.00E | Gulf of Guinea

A container vessel underway 158nm south west of Brass, Gulf of Guinea was approached by a speed boat travelling at 25 knots. The speed boat was detected approaching the vessel from 6nm and as it came closer shots were fired. The pirates contacted the Master on VHF requesting that he stop. The Master replied that he would not stop and at 0420 UTC the pirates abandoned their attack.
