(1) Incident Type : GENERAL ALERT | Vessel Type : CARGO VESSEL
1824 UTC | 20 February | Posn: 13-27.00N 049-42.00E | Gulf of Aden

A vessel has been approached whilst underway in the IRTC by 3 skiffs. The skiffs are reported to have closed to a distance of 1nm.

It has been reported that the incident is now over and the vessel is safe.

(2) Incident Type : PIRATE ATTACK | Vessel Type : TANKER
0110 UTC | 20 February | Posn: 05-08.31N 002-06.14E | Gulf of Guinea

A tanker was attacked approximately 75nm South-Southwest of Cotonou, Benin. 2 armed pirates boarded the tanker and ten crew members have been kidnapped. Shots were fired by the pirates as they boarded the vessel. Total number of crew kidnapped is 9. 1 crew member, initially believed to be kidnapped, has been found hiding onboard.
