(1) Incident Type : ROBBERY | Vessel Type : BULK CARRIER
0000UTC | 21 January | Posn: 03-42.06S 114-25.02E | Taboneo Anchorage, Indonesia

A duty crew member on board an anchored bulk carrier, in Taboneo Anchorage, noticed the
bosun store lock was broken and the ship's stores had been stolen.

(2) Incident Type : ATTEMPTED ROBBERY | Vessel Type : TANKER
1844UTC | 21 January | Posn: 01-04.09N 104-09.01E | Batam Island, Indonesia

An attempted robbery was reported on a tanker in Kabil waters, eastern Batam Island. 4 assailants boarded the tanker and were fought off by crew members, 1 of the robbers was apprehended whilst the 3 others fled overboard. It is understood that during the incident 1 crew member suffered an injury to their face.

(3) Incident Type : PIRATE ATTACK | Vessel Type : CONTAINER VESSEL
0836UTC | 21 January | Posn: 04-10.15N 005-31.35E | Southwest of Brass, Nigeria

A container ship was attacked whilst underway approximately 45nm West Southwest of Brass, Nigeria. A black speedboat with a white flag and 15 armed pirates onboard, fired upon the vessel and then moved away. The Nigerian authorities have been notified. UPDATE: It has been confirmed that the container ship did have an onboard security team, who returned fire which resulted in the pirates aborting their attack. During this incident the crew retreated to the Citadel.

(4) Incident Type : GENERAL ALERT | Vessel Type : TANKER
2300UTC | 20 January | Posn: 05-42.00N 003-33.00E | Nigeria

An attempted boarding took place against a tanker whilst underway south of Lagos. The
attempted boarding was made by a skiff with a number of pirates carrying hooks and a long ladder.
