(1) Incident Type : ROBBERY A bulk carrier transiting through the Singapore Straits, was boarded by armed 5 robber carrying guns and knives. Whilst on board the robbers took a crew member hostage, tied his hands together and threatened him. The robbers then stole ships spares and escaped. The crew member was able to notify the officer on watch who raised the alarm and reported to Singapore's Vessel Traffic Information System (VTIS).
